Greater Victoria's 13 municipalities have chosen their mayors and councillors for the next four years.
According to preliminary results
Victoria will be led by Mayor Marianne Alto for a second term after preliminary results showed she secured nearly 45% of the vote. Several incumbent councillors will return for another term—including Stephen Hammond, Matt Dell, Marg Gardiner, Jeremy Caradonna, and Dave Thompson—with three new members joining.
Saanich has a new face in the mayor's seat after Rishi Sharma, a member of the Save Our Saanich (SOS) slate, took 45% of the vote in preliminary results. Three incumbent councillors will return; all six members of the SOS slate, including Sharma, captured seats.
Stew Young is taking back his position as Langford mayor after beating incumbent Scott Goodmanson in a landslide, with 65% of preliminary votes. Four years ago, Goodmanson toppled Young's 29-year run as the city's mayor, though by a much smaller margin.
Two other municipalities re-elected their incumbent mayors: Oak Bay's Kevin Murdoch secured a third term, and Colwood's Doug Kobayashi won nearly three-quarters of the vote for a second term.
Amalgamation: a non-binding opinion question
• Victoria voted 61.67% “Yes.”
• Saanich voted 67.96% “No.”
