Get there early. That's probably the best advice. That, and a chair—and maybe earplugs.

The early forecast is top-flight for the Snowbirds’ final full air show over Victoria before their CT-114 Tutor aircraft are retired and the vaunted 55-year program is paused.

If you want to get a closer look, the original Snowbird 1 Tutor will be on display at the BC Aviation Museum’s annual Open House 10am-4pm today and tomorrow. The Snowbirds will perform a flyover above North Saanich at noon Monday. 

Organizers said they expect 20K-30K to cram the Dallas roadway—and the grassy hillside—on Tuesday, with many securing spots between Ogden and Finlayson points and at Clover Point well before the 5pm start.

Parking restrictions on Dallas will begin at noon, and some roads in James Bay will be closed at 3pm. Sections of Dallas, Cook, Douglas and Memorial will be barricaded until 6pm.

It’s going to be bumper-to-bumper getting in and out of the neighbourhood. The city encourages anyone going to walk, cycle or take public transit.

The Snowbirds are scheduled for one final flyover of Victoria next Saturday as part of the David Foster Foundation’s 40th Anniversary Celebration in the Inner Harbour.
